The Music of the Night

I went to watch the Phantom of the Opera today. Instead of the music of the night it was actually the music of the afternoon to be exact because Bo, Girard, and I + Yvonne's entire family went to see it at 1.

We had Mezzanine seating so our view was decent. Sorry the quality was so bad we already got in trouble for taking pictures inside the theatre. Anyway, I loved it!! It was so good! I've been wanting to see the Phantom of the Opera since I was a little kid! SO YAY.

After Phantom Bo, Girard and I went to eat lunch at Fuzion and we decided to go to Mitsuwa / Daiso to look at magazines and just browse around. Unfortunately we didn't have lunch at Santouka!! Boo...

After Santouka we went to Daiso where I saw a whole row of stylish gum! I was thrilled!!
So stylish!! I love it.

I bought Collon one time and then I asked Nimitz if he wanted some.

Me: Hey. Do you want some of my collon?
Nimitz: Um? Your colon?
Me: Yeah its vanilla flavored.
Nimitz: Wow your colon tastes like vanilla?

HAHA. Yeah i know i'm gross. K that's all!!

Hiro Loves His Rawhide

Bo gave Hiro some rawhide and he ran around with it in his mouth and every time I would pretend to take it out of his mouth he would run away. He's cute though and I love him.

DON'T GET ME STARTED!!!!

My food intake for the past 3 days has been TOO MUCH!!!! I'm not even exaggerating this time. At least I've been going to the gym to kind of make up for it. I was actually kind of freaking out this morning because I was definitely having a don't even get me started moment!! My dad woke me up to tell me he cooked pancakes and when I walked into the kitchen there was a huge stack of pancakes (obviously not just for me to eat but also to feed my entire caravan on a family), boiled eggs, pork chops, grapes, cantaloupe, coffee, orange juice, and oatmeal. I just had an artery clogging moment looking at everything!! I only ate a pancake and made myself a cup of coffee then quickly walked away from the table just so I wouldn't eat more than I should.

Last night I went out with 3 out of the 2678 family members that I have to Island Prime in Harbor Island. The place used to be called Reubens and I guess they had a change of ownership a few years back. Its a beautiful location. Right on the harbor overlooking downtown San Diego. Absolutely gorge. Anyway, WE ATE SO MUCH!!!

It all started off with this brioche!!

I decided that I didn't want to get steak and ended up getting Scallops with risotto and asparagus but then I ended up eating my moms steak because it was just soooooo good!!

AND to top that off we all shared 2 desserts! Key Lime pie and a trio of creme brulee!!

I didn't even have time to take a good picture because the moment that the sever placed the key lime pie on the table my family was already diving into it with their forks as you can see in this photo!! BTW, in the back was the YUMMY creme brulee.

This was just too much but so good!! =)

Best Friends Dinner V

Joel has been wanting to try out this Argentinian place in Little Italy for the longest time so on Thursday we FINALLY went to Puerto La Boca! I guess their main website has been down for awhile so all the info I could find on this restaurant was through Yelp. The last time Joel and I went to Little Italy was to eat at Trattoria Fantastica / Cafe Zuccheros and that time it seriously took us FOREVER to get parking but luckily this time we were able to find parking easily. Also, the restaurant was at the far end of Little Italy so there was plenty of parking spaces available.


We started our meal off with tons of bread and olives, garlic butter, and this really delicious parsley, garlic & olive oil mix. Andrew told me what it was called but all I remember was it sounded like "chimichanga."


Joel took this picture after we already tore it up and devoured so much bread. We also ordered 1 ham and cheese empenada as an appetizer but we were eating like barbarians and didn't have time to take a picture of it but that too was tasty. It took us forever to decide what we want because it was like this for 10 min while the server was patiently standing at our table taking our order.

Joel: We would like the empenadas.
Server: You have a choice of beef, spinach, ham, cheese & chicken.
Me: Oh we can get cheese and chicken.
Server: Oh it is actually ham and cheese.
Me: Oh ok!
Joel: Beef.....(silence)
Me: Spinach.......(silence)
Me: Oh wait you don't like vegetables (looking at Joel)
Joel: No that's fine.
Me: Beef......(silence)
Joel: Um...
Me: Ok ham and cheese.
Joel: Ham and cheese.
Me + Joel: Ham and cheese!!
Server: So ham and cheese?
Joel: Yes.
Me: Sorry Thank you!!

We ordered Entraña for two with mashed potatoes.

Overall it was a nice place and I would definitely go again. =)

After dinner Joel and I decided to walk around Little Italy on a quest to find a place for Best Friends Dinner VI / photo shoot. HAHA.

We couldn't decide between Nocciola, Pistacio, or Vagina Gelato Flavors. HAHA!!

Cafe Zucchero seriously gives SOOOOOO MUCH Gelato!! So good!!! Alas, our night came to an end so until the next dinner..... Toodles!!

Got My Hair Did!

I had a hair appointment today! Finally!! I haven't gotten a hair cut in months and my hair was dying for a little trimming!! I cut off 3 inches. YAY!

I got out of work early and splurged on a Starbucks green tea frappuccino that I didn't need to get while waiting for my appointment.

Last night Bowie and I went to dinner to sort of celebrate our monthaversary. I'm always embarrassed to say that we do that because I usually get the reaction, "You are so lame?" or "OH MY GOD."

Before we headed to the restaurant Bowie had to get gas and look what we saw!!

A KUSI camera crew!! It's kind of hard to see the news anchor because of all the bright lights shining in our direction but she was in the middle of the white light! I was assuming they were going to talk about how the gas prices are going down $0.01!! I saw that on the news at 24 hour plus I saw how there was a naked man trying to jump out of a plane on I think American Airlines so they had to have an emergency landing but then a soccer team helped to restrain him! HAHA! Random I know!

Anyway, we had dinner at Etna Restaurant in City Heights. Let me tell you that although the neighborhood is kind of "ghetto" looking the food was really tasty! Bo went there with his friends a few weeks ago and I ate his leftovers. I even Yelped the place just to see reviews and it was mostly 4-5 stars!!! Also they are owned by Taste of Italy so of course it would be good!!

We ordered Calamari Fritti because I was too scared to order the Calamari Diablo because I don't really like jalapenos as I wrote in my last blog.

Then we split a Penne Shrimp Pomodoro. YUM! To top that off we had garlic cheese sourdough bread!! SO GOOD!! The restaurant closes at 3AM too!!

This is probably why I am so fat but oh well. I LOVE FOOD SO MUCH!!! =)

Sandwich Emporium

Not to be confused with Emporio Armani!!

Bo took me to this really delicious sandwich place today in Clairemont! I was excited that we just had sandwiches for dinner because I figured at least we could eat something a little bit semi-healthy. The sad thing is that I just scarfed down 4 oreo cookies with milk prior to writing this blogette.

Anyway, I guess Bo just "Yelped" The Sandwich Emporium and decided we should try it out.

The place was really small but cozy. They had magazines that we could read while waiting for our sandwiches! =)

Bowie ordered the Spicy Julio (Left). It came with jalapenos which I'm not a huge fan of but I ate it anyway cause I was really hungry. I got a California (Right). It was just your basic turkey sandwich with avocados. I forgot to tell the guy to hold the mustard though =( and I'm definitely not a fan of regular mustard.

With our sandwiches we had some DIRTY potato chips! Let me tell you I LOVE KETTLE CHIPS!!

Anticipation

Every time Andrew and I work out on the "EFX" machine also known as the Elliptical/Ellipsies we usually do the manual program. Midway through the workout we ALWAYS anticipate this hill and we get really excited for it. HAHA.

Downtown San Diego Madness!!

Saturday started off as "family time" in the morning followed by a calorie burning adventure with Andrew at 24 hour fitness.

It was Andrew's cousin Aldryn's 30th Birthday and we celebrated in style at the ultra trendy Hard Rock Hotel. Not to mention we did start off the night with some stylish lemon flavored gum!!
We left for downtown around 8:45PM because we figured that since there was a Padres game at Petco Park there would be a ton of traffic and it would be hard to find parking. We thought to ourselves if anything we'll just pay $30 to have our car valeted at the hotel if we couldn't find street parking. Don't get me started the second we got off the 163 there was traffic!! Street were closed and we were directed to streets leading away from the hotel! After 15 minutes of driving around which seriously felt like a lifetime we ended up at the front of the hotel.

Andrew: Hi! I need to valet my car.
Valet man: Sorry the lot is fun but if you do have a room at this hotel then we will allow 1 car.
Andrew: Oh.
(*knocking on Bo's window who ends up being Bo's friend!)
Bo's friend Valet man #2: Sorry man we are full but if you can get to that parking structure back there (in this area right next to Petco park) I can get you a validation.
Andrew: How do I get there?
Bo's friend Valet man #2: You'd have to drive around the block.
(At the time there were TONS of TRAFFIC i.e. a Don't Get Me Started Moment)
Andrew: Okay. Thanks.

After another probably 15 minutes of illegal talking on the cell phone while driving and driving around gaslamp we finally found parking!! We did still have to wait outside for one of Andrew's cousins to come get us since hotel security doesn't allow anyone into the hotel if you don't have a key but we FINALLY stepped foot inside!!

Seriously to think that Aldryn had a rooftop suite and we even knew someone who worked the valet and we STILL couldn't get any parking at the hotel it was chaotic. Then as soon as we made our way to the elevators the security stopped us AGAIN because there were so many people going upstairs it seriously was just MADNESS I tell you! HAHA.

After going through all those obstacles just to get to this party we just partied the night away with food and drinks!

We were sitting waiting for this party to get started!! Then it finally got started! HAHA.

After a few hours we sat outside in the patio and were entertained by a chatty Cathy who was pretty much falling out of her seat. Andrew took this photo. OMG. She was talking so much she was asking the people that she was talking with if they are tired of listening to her.

Soon it was time to go home...

It was a night of fun! =)

Don't Get Me Started at Dave and Busters!

The other night Bo and I went to Dave and Busters to meet up with his classmates. It's usually busy every Thursday because its "Asian" night but apparently it was crowded also because it was one of the Jabbawockeez' birthday. I thought to myself....well they are a lot more popular now why Dave and Busters? HAHA.

I ran into someone who was invited to this "private party."

Person: What are you doing here?
Me: I'm here with my boyfriend.
Person: Oh yeah? Are you trying to get into the private party?
Me: No but I guess the Jabbawockeez are here?
Person: WHAT? What are you talking about? How did you get this information? (Acting so surprised and confused)
Me: My friend just told me.
Person: Oh well, um...(speaks very hestiantly) yeah they are here tonight celebrating so and so's birthday party.
Me: Oh okay.
Person: Oh hey Edward!! (Starts talking to someone else then turns around looks at me and says hold on)
Me: (After waiting 2 min just watching this person talk to someone else) Uhh...it was really nice seeing you I'm going to leave now. See you around.
Person: Oh my god, i'm so sorry for leaving you hanging it was nice seeing you.

Seriously? Was this person trying to sound as if he/she was so important? LAME!!! I'm over it.

VONS adventure

Yesterday Bo and I decided to make some smoked salmon with cream cheese bagel sandwiches. Unfortunately we didn't have any smoked salmon, bagels, red onions, capers, AND tomatoes so we had to venture off to Vons to buy everything. While we were there I decided that I wanted to buy some Arizona Green Tea. A big jug (<--fugs and jugs HAHA.) was on sale so I figured that was a better deal than getting a smaller bottle. Anyway, while standing at the register waiting to pay for our purchases Bo and I had a funny little conversation with our Vons worker!

Worker: Hi. How are you doing?
Me: I'm good how are you?
Worker: Would you like your tea bagged?
Me: No thank you. I can just carry the jug.
(*Pays and walks away)
Bo: HAHA. Did you hear him? He asked if you wanted your tea bagged.
Me: OMG! You are so smart!! I get it! OMG!! That was a good one!!

Too bad I didn't take any pictures of my sandwich! It was really good and I was just so hungry at the time I devoured my meal in less than 10 minutes! WOWSERS!!!

Drive Through Fun

I was at Alejandros the other day buying food and look what was on their Tip Cup! HAHA.

I was actually kind of embarrassed taking this since

1. it was just weird having to point my camera at their drive through window
2. who takes pictures at Alejandros
3. the workers were staring at me

but I did it for the sake of my dedicated readers. so this post was definitely written with love. <3<3<3

DON'T GET ME STARTED!!!!

I had a good day today.

1. Work was fun and productive.
2. I exercised twice!!!
3. Hung out with Bowie.
4. I didn't even eat that much today either!!! YAY. WOW! (Don't even get me started on this because for the past two days my I had a giant costco key lime pie sitting in my fridge and I pretty much gorged on it every night and now that there isn't anymore i have nothing else to eat.)

Anyway, I was chatting away with Andrew online and getting so excited because I was adding new songs to my shuffle and telling him that I was excited to wash my clothes. HAHA. I know i'm crazy. I love to wash clothes and clean. Anyway, when I took my clothes out of the washer MY POOR SHUFFLE WAS SITTING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE WASHER!!!!! I almost died. =( Earlier after I added the new songs to the shufflesies my cousin kept on playing with it so I pulled it out of her hands and unhooked the ear phones from it and just dropped it into my shirt pocket. My dad and I were going to go for a walk so I figured I'll just change out of my work clothes and into my exercise gear and I just dropped my clothes into the wash completely forgetting about the shuffle!! Ugh...

Anyway, my dad felt bad for me I guess and called me destroyer. HAHA. There's a story why he calls me destroyer but I'll finish this story first. Well my dad just gave me his for now. I feel bad though but it did make me happy. =)

Destroyer Story:
When I was little or I guess not that little because I was in Middle School I put one of those instant asian spicy kimchee soup bowls into the microwave. I was on the phone with my friend Amy Lui at the time and this is kind of what happened:

Me: I'm hungry I just put soup in the Microwave.
*Having some sort of conversation about something.
Me: OMG. The wrapper on the soup bowl is curling.
Amy: You didn't take the cover off it has foil on it.
Me: I'm supposed to take it off?
Amy: Yeah.
Me: OMG!! It's on fire. OMG!! There's a fire in my microwave!!
*Throws the phone somewhere and opens the microwave and splashes water on the fire.

A Few Hours Later...I try to pretend that nothing happened.

Dad: Why is there a hole in the microwave? Why is the inside of the microwave all black?
Dad: CHRISTINE!!! DID YOU DO THIS? YOU DESTROYER!! Now we have to buy a new microwave!!

I mean the story wasn't that funny but I guess everytime I do something wrong my dad always has to be like...well when you destroyed the microwave...blah blah blah...HAHA. I love my dad though.

OMG....these just made me happy!! HAHA!!
